The Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce celebrated a ribbon cutting ceremony with J&K Fleas An’Tiques in Eatonton on Tuesday, Aug. 17, celebrating the expansion and opening of the new Eatonton store.
The new Eatonton location is one of four stores operated under the J&K Enterprises umbrella. Downtown Madison is home to the other stores including J&K Fleas An’Tiques, J&K Antiques and Interiors, and Jefferson Street Consignments.
“Our stores cater to a variety of clients, needs and price points. We’re sure at least one of our locations is just right for you,” expresses co-owner Keith Rex.
Rex brought his reputable antique business to Eatonton after being recruited by locals to open a store in the vacant Eatonton Market building. J&K Fleas An’Tiques in Eatonton officially opened June 5 featuring 20 dealers in 5,000 sq. ft. offering more of the quality antiques and collectibles at great prices customers expect from J&K.
According to Rex, “customers love the open and inviting store with its original moldings and skylights — and there are some magnificent treasures to find.”
J&K Enterprises began in 1993 in Milledgeville, Georgia under the ownership of John Pisello and Keith Rex, the J and K in the business name. John grew up surrounded by antiques as the son of antique collectors and dealers. Keith’s passion for antiques and collectibles grew out of a desire to reclaim lost items from his childhood. Since the original store opening, the business relocated to Rutledge in 1999 and then to its current location in Madison in 2008.
J&K Fleas An’Tiques in Eatonton is located at 109 N. Jefferson Avenue and is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday and Monday, the store is open by chance. Booth spaces are still available for anyone interested. For more information, call (706) 485-7002, visit http://www.j-and-k-enterprises.com or like the business on facebook.
