Oct. 27 – Feb. 18 – ‘Scapes
The Madison-Morgan Cultural Center in partnership with The Steffen Thomas Museum presents ‘Scapes an exhibition of Landscapes, Cityscapes and Seascapes by Steffen Thomas. This exhibit presents paintings selected from private collections to represent the best works by Steffen Thomas, a German-American Expressionist, who worked as an artist in the Atlanta are from 1929 until 1990. Curated by Hathia and Andrew Hayes.
Jan. 3 — Jan. 20
Calling Artists ages 16 and up. The Plaza Arts Center is seeking entries to its first Amateur Fine Arts show and Competition. The dates for submission are Jan. 3-20, 2012. Art should be drawn or painted in oil, pastels, acrylics, water colors, charcoal, pen and ink, mixed media, or other acceptable media. No photographs for this exhibition, please. Art can be on canvas, canvas board, wood, paper, fabric, or other acceptable medium base. Artwork may be framed or stretched, but must be able to be hung. Send a photo of each entry along with an application available at www.theplazaartscenter.com or applications and rules may also be picked up in person at The Plaza Arts Center. The application fee is $30 for up to three entries, and $5 for each additional entry. Upon receipt of all entries, the jury panel will evaluate works for suitability and space. The application deadline is 5:00 PM January 20, 2012. Awards will include a $500 prize for the Best in Show, and ribbons for first, second and third place in the following divisions: Landscape, Abstract, Portrait, Still Life and Contemporary. The show will be open to the public February 10-19, 2012 at The Plaza Arts Center.
Bootcamp exercise classes designed to blast fat fast are every weekday at 6:15 a.m. at Bodyplex Gym, 106 Village Lane off of Harmony. All fitness levels welcome. $5 per class. Contact Jennette Snider CPT (706) 986-9376.
John Berry’s Joy to the World Christmas Tour is coming at 7 pm Saturday, December 17 at Festival Hall
Festival Hall welcomes back John Berry for his second annual holiday performance in Lake Oconee’s Hometown. This year’s Joy to the World Christmas Tour is sure to delight long time fans and newcomer’s to John’s music alike.
John’s stunning performance of the title track from his 1995 CD “O Holy Night” led to the country music artist’s most endurance legacy. John began doing a Christmas tour in 1996 and this year will mark his 15 consecutive Christmas concert series.
A limited number of seats are available for this one-night only show.

Lake Oconee Landscape Association has formed to promote professionalism in the green industry, in the lake country. All members of LOLA are required to be licensed, insured and reputable. LOLA members provides services such as; landscape installation, maintenance, lawn and shrub fertilization, weed control, garden centers, all your outdoor needs. The Greene County Toastmasters Club invites everyone who wishes to improve their public speaking ability and increase their confidence to join them. The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition-Georgia Chapter will host “Hearts of Teal” the last Tuesday of each month. Survivors of all

Bariatric Surgery Support Group The Lake Oconee Bariatric Surgery Support Group will meet December 6 at 6:30p m at the office of Oconee Nutrition Consultants at The Cowles Clinic, Suite Elm.
