Allstate Agent and Rotarian Chris Jackson recently made a contribution to Rotary’s Second Harvest program.  Accepting the donation on behalf of Second Harvest was Rotarian and Second Harvest Treasurer Ed O’Neal.  Second Harvest’s mission is to eliminate hunger in Greene and Putnam counties by partnering with the community to reclaim food from hotels, restaurants, grocery stores and individuals that would otherwise be thrown away. Second Harvest collects this donated food, purchases food through Feeding America and distributes the food to those in need the third Saturday of every month at Greene County High School.

In a little over two years, Second Harvest has distributed more than 100,000 pounds of food to children, seniors and other deserving people in our community.
