Plantation Ladies Club members once again gathered at the Lake Club for lunch on May 18, 2011. As is typical at the May meeting, a new president and board was installed for the coming year. Mary Elzy recognized her current officers before officially handing the reins of the 459 member organization to new President Maxine Pepin and the officers for 2011-2012. Entertainment was provided by Metropolitan Opera star Jeffrey Wells, who will be the OPAS artist-in-residence for the next several months. Accompanied on the piano by Lake Oconee’s own very talented Gary Arnold, Mr. Wells delighted his audience and received a standing ovation for singing selections from Broadway musicals Paint Your Wagon, Camelot, and South Pacific.
