The Lake Country Bulldog Club announces UGA Men’s Head Basketball Coach, Mark Fox will be speaking to the Bulldog Club at Rock Eagle’s Outdoor Pavillion on Oct. 11, 2011. The event is open to the public and will begin with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. followed by a 6:30 p.m. dinner and Fox speaking at 7:30 p.m. Cost of the event will be $20 and will include dinner, door prize drawings and a raffle for attendees.

Coach Fox officially became the 21st head coach of the UGA Men’s Basketball Team in April, 2009, after serving five successful seasons at the University of Nevada, which made the postseason each of the five years Fox coached there.

During Fox’s tenure as head coach, Nevada won over 20 games each season, won or shared four straight Western Athletic Conference titles and played in three consecutive NCAA Tournaments. He was named the WAC Don Haskins Coach of the Year three times.

Coach Fox brings with him a proven record from Nevada and a long history of solid recruiting to the Georgia Men’s Basketball team. In his short tenure, he has helped bring a lot of excitement back into the program. In his first year as head coach, the Bulldogs went 14-17 and finished 6th in the SEC east. However, they were able to knock off rival Tennessee and three other top 25 teams. The 2011 season saw tremendous improvement, with 21 wins, a third place finish in the SEC East and their first visit to the NCAA tournament since 2008.

This October 11 event at Rock Eagle gives Bulldog fans a chance to hear firsthand from Coach Fox about his team’s preparations leading into what will be a highly anticipated basketball season in 2011-2012.
