Peter Burwash International (PBI), the world’s largest and most successful tennis management company is conducting a new training program at the Lake Club Tennis Center in Reynolds Plantation.  PBI manages close to 50 clubs and resorts in 25 different countries around the globe, including the tennis at the Reynolds Plantation on Lake Oconee.

Eight new professionals are currently being trained to join the 90 professionals currently in the company.  The trainees come from very diverse geographical and cultural backgrounds but are linked by a common thread – their love of tennis and their service oriented personalities.  All of the trainees have college or professional playing backgrounds and are now staying in the tennis industry to give back to others.

Peter Burwash himself was at Reynolds from August 22nd-25th to run off-court seminars on leadership and nutrition, along with on-court sessions to work on PBI’s tennis teaching concepts.  Long-time training director Roger Darrohn is in charge of the majority of the training program with the Lake Club Tennis Director, Dave Neuhart teaching some classes as well.

“Training has been a very unique experience.  It’s been a great two-way street of giving input and getting lots of information,” said Raul van den Bedem from the Netherlands.   “Reynolds is different than most places in Europe.  Its huge but not very populated.”

“This training group has been one of the more cohesive groups in recent memory” said Darrohn.  “Everyone seems to have fun as they improve.”

The trainees will be making Greensboro, home for from Aug. 21 to Sept. 18.
