“The Wine Tasting in the Garden” at Gary’s Garden Center was held on Saturday Oct. 24. More than 200 people attended this great event, sponsored by The Oconee Cellar and Gary’s Garden Center. Attendees were able to sample more than 80 different wines throughout the beautiful setting of Gary’s Outdoor Garden Center. Gourmet foods were served along with the wines while live soothing Jazz was played throughout the evening. The evening was perfect and most importantly more than $11,500 was either individually pledged or collected through ticket sales for St. Joseph’s Hospital at this event. One of the event coordinators, owner of The Oconee Cellar, Matt Garofalo stated, “I am really excited about helping St. Joseph’s reach its financial goals by hosting such a great event. This would not be such a great success without the attendance and support of our community. It is really fun to able to explore and learn about some wonderful new wines while supporting such a great cause. We plan on holding this event in the spring and fall every year and I can see this becoming bigger and bigger in the future. I would also like to thank Gary and Lynn Pike for hosting such a wonderful event.’”
