In big cities and small towns, Christians are using their faith and prayers to combat crime, homelessness, corruption and economic doldrums. On National Day of Prayer, Thursday, May 7, consider joining with others to positively affect the community.
Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church, in conjunction with other area churches, ministries, and like-minded believers, will host the 2009 community wide National Day of Prayer service. The church will open its doors from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for anyone in the community to come into the sanctuary for individual or group prayers.
There will be an organized program from noon until 1 p.m. when local pastors from many denominations and lay leaders will pray for the community, nation, military and economy as well as other issues. Following the service, a sack lunch and drink will be provided to each attendee. The lunch includes a sandwich from the Chick-fil-A in Madison. Also, babysitting will be available during the program.
Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church is located at 113 Scott Road, just off Highway 44 near the Greene and Putnam County line.
