Come to the Union Point Theater on Friday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. and step back in time. If you close your eyes, you’ll believe you’re hearing Elvis Presley perform. The Union Point Downtown Development Authority and Better Hometown Program (BHT) proudly presents singer Horace Reeves of Rutledge, Ga., and his three daughters. He will perform a range of songs from the 1950’s to present day. Admission is $5 in advance and $7 at the door. All proceeds will benefit the renovation projects. Children living in the Lake Oconee area are invited to put on their favorite costumes, bring a big sack to collect candies and other treats, and join the fun on Friday, Oct. 31 at Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church. Parents take note: For a safe and fun evening of games, “Trunk or Treating,” and enjoying a variety of live music, bring your children to Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church parking lot. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. and will end at 8 p.m. Kids will have a great time in the inflatable “bounce house,” going down a giant slide, enjoying many different games and winning prizes, decorating cookies, have their faces painted. Also there will be a fire safety house for their enjoyment and education. Live acoustic guitar music and a variety of ‘50s “doo-op,” and other Rock n’ Roll oldies will add to the evening’s entertainment.
