A new garden has come to the Pete Nance Boys & Girls Club in Greensboro! Thanks to the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, plus a generous grant and volunteer team from Home Depot, two spacious raised beds have been constructed for the benefit of the club’s members and their families. Kids of all ages came out recently to enjoy the fun, learn about some of the wonders of nature and get their hands in the dirt by doing all the planting themselves. The garden is meant both as an educational experience and as a gift of free produce. With ample sunshine, watering and weeding, the garden should produce a good crop of collards, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, swiss chard, onions and lettuce in the weeks ahead. Thanks to club Director Stacy McClendon and all who participated.
