GREENSBORO, Ga. — Lake Oconee Academy (LOA) is thrilled to have been selected as Best School 12 years in a row and Best Golf Tournament by the Lake Oconee Breeze 12th Annual Reader’s Choice Awards. For the past 12 years, the community has enjoyed having a say in declaring various businesses and organizations the best in and around Lake Oconee. Each year, readers anticipate nominating and voting for their favorites and to be chosen is an honor and privilege among the community.

“We are honored to have been selected in both categories. It’s a testament to the many ways in which our community supports us, and we are truly grateful,” said Lake Oconee Academy Executive Director Dr. Brad Bowling.

Upon receiving this news, LOA was teeing up for its annual Tees for Titans golf tournament, held Aug. 28.

“In a golf community where many golf tournaments are held, it is an incredible honor to be chosen as the best tournament. This tournament has evolved over the 14 years we have been hosting it and to have this recognition just reiterates that all of our hard work is worth it. We look forward to having the opportunity to continue making this tournament better each year,” said Kendra Van Mol, LOA Director of Development.

As LOA first received the news of the honor and distinction of Best School, the ‘23-’24 school year had only been underway for less than a month.

With new leadership under Dr. Brad Bowling and exciting new plans on the horizon, LOA is enthusiastic about its future, “This honor, while exciting to receive, only reaffirms our commitment to our students, staff, and this community; serving to remind us how truly important LOA is in this community. We will continue to strive to not only meet but exceed the expectations of the ones who entrust us. We are excited for what the future holds for this school and its students,” said Bowling.
