GREENSBORO, Ga. — The Greene County Chamber of Commerce (GCCOC) Board of Directors proudly name Mika Mills as the new president of the GCCOC. Mika’s dedication to Greene County runs deep, as seen by her volunteerism through a variety of organizations: she is the current board chair for the Circle of Love Shelter Inc., as the treasurer for the Greensboro Business Association, and is a member of the Lake Oconee Area Builders Association. Most recently, Mika served on the GCCOC Board of Directors; her in-depth knowledge of chamber operations and ideas for future plans make Mika the perfect match for the president position.
“After interviewing Mika, her passion and commitment — to not only the chamber, but also the local community — was wildly evident,” said Chris Ingle, head of the GCCOC President Search Committee. “We absolutely needed someone who could ‘take the bull by the horns’ and bring new ideas and programming to the members; Mika was the answer. We are excited to see what 2021 brings for our members!”
In Mills’ previous role in membership sales and events at Harbor Club, she worked closely with existing members to enhance their overall club
experience by providing year-round programming. She also educated
potential members on their options, introduced them to the gated community and provided tours. Her knowledge of marketing practices also allowed her to communicate efficiently with the membership community on a weekly basis through a variety of channels.
“I’d like to thank Terry Lawler for all his hard work over the past few years in helping our chamber expand. I hope to continue an improve upon the good work that past President Terry Lawler has put into place and worked so hard to accomplish for our member,” said Mills.
She began her role as GCCOC president on Jan. 18, 2021. A meet and greet will be set up in the first quarter for the community to meet her personally.
