Inducting new members is always a time of great joy for an organization. The Greene County Toastmasters Club is no exception. In a recent celebratory ceremony V.P of Membership, Kris Mapp, inducted Joann Sheats and Harsha Fernando into the Greene County Toastmasters Club.
TM Sheats is as a dual member, which means she belongs to more than one Toastmaster Club. She is also a member of the Athens Toastmaster Club and current Area Director for Area 54, Division E, District 14. Retired from the state of Georgia as an assistant human resources manager, TM Sheats is a graduate of DeVry University with a BS in computer information systems and a curious and continuous learner.
Also inducted was Harsha Fernando who is a resident of Sri Lanka. Only due to Zoom’s virtual meeting platform was he able to join the Greene County Club. Toastmaster Fernando is currently a student at the University of Sri Jayawardenepura in Sri Lanka. He is in a mentoring program with Dr. Hasitha Mahabaduge, professor of physics at Georgia College in Milledgeville.
