Lake Oconee Fishing Forecast
Lake Conditions – The lake has heavy stain in the rivers and some stain throughout the lake.
Lake Water Temperature – 55-59 degrees
Largemouth Bass – GOOD – The fish have moved into the coves in good numbers. Spinnerbaits, crankbaits, jigs and even Trick worms are good around docks, wood and any rocks in the coves. Some of the fish have moved a good distance into the coves so you need to work from the entrance all the way back.
Crappie – GOOD – The fish are in the coves and creeks and are being caught by trolling (pushing and pulling) dark colored jigs due to the heavily stained water. The warm up will see crappie relating to shallow water especially around docks where shooting jigs will produce good catches.
Striped Bass/White Bass/Hybrid Bass – Better – The fish have begun to show up in front of the Wallace Dam.
Catfish – NO REPORT
