GREENSBORO, Ga. — Georgia Power has committed to serve as the title sponsor of Lake Oconee’s Heart and Soul Gala, the premier fundraising event benefiting St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital. The company’s generous $50,000 donation will support mobile mammography and prostate screening services, enhancing access to essential healthcare for community members.

Georgia Power has a long history with the Lake Oconee region, dating back to 1975 when it created the lake. As the anchor that first attracted residents and visitors, Lake Oconee’s formation by Georgia Power played a pivotal role in the area’s development. The company’s commitment has extended beyond providing electricity to supporting regional efforts to elevate quality of life, economic growth, and environmental sustainability, all of which have made Lake Oconee a vibrant community.

The Heart and Soul Gala, celebrating the hospital’s 10th anniversary, will take place on Feb. 15, 2025, at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds Lake Oconee and is the area’s premiere fundraising black-tie event.
