Knights of Columbus holds 2024 Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner

- Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner with members of the Greene County Sheriff's Department and Greensboro Police Department.
The Knights of Columbus Council 13808 held its annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Dinner May 8 in the Christ Our King and Savior social hall. The dinner is provided to law enforcement personnel from Greene and Putnam Counties sheriff’s offices and Greensboro Police Department to show appreciation and support for the outstanding service these law enforcement agencies provide in lake country. There were 85 attendees, including 35 personnel from the Sheriffs’ and Police Departments.
Grand Knight Mike Dutton commented “…we are often asked why we go to so much effort for the law enforcement dinner, our response has been and continues to be, this is our opportunity to personally thank these men and women who serve and protect our community. We enjoy a higher standard of living because of them.”
Grand Knight Mike Dutton served as master of ceremonies.Greene County Sheriff Donnie Harrison and Greensboro Police Chief Rodricus Monford Sr. introduced their staffs, provided updates on local crime and safety issues and took questions from the floorUnfortunately, Sheriff Howard Sills from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office was unable to attend but his department was still represented by two of their deputies.
A wonderful Italian pasta dinner was prepared under the watchful eye of Fred Caselli and his team of Knights, providing his special “sauce” recipe, salad and garlic bread.Everyone enjoyed the evening and fellowship.
The Knights of Columbus is the world’s largest Catholic fraternal organization with more than 2.0 million members.Locally, Pope John Paul II Council 13808 located at Christ Our King and Savior Church, has over 180 members.
