Eatonton resident and NAMI Georgia President Faye Taylor recently attended the Rosalynn Carter Georgia Mental Health Forum at The Carter Center where she enjoyed visiting with Mrs. Carter. She also continued a discussion with Dr. Paul Grant and Dr. Aaron Brinen about their recovery-oriented cognitive therapy training in Georgia. Dr. Grant and Dr. Brinen teach at the Aaron Beck Research Center in Pennsylvania in collaboration with Psychiatrist Aaron T. Beck, father of Cognitive Therapy. Mrs. Taylor met Dr. Grant and Dr. Brinen last summer when they spoke at the NAMI Convention in Denver. They plan to network further in June during this year’s NAMI Convention in Washington. NAMI, National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization and is expanding outside the U.S.
