Southern Spice Dance Academy brings home top honors at BravO! 20th Anniversary Competition

Southern Spice Dance Academy brought home top honors from the 20th anniversary season of the BravO! Dance Competition in Athens last month.

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Southern Spice Dance Academy brought home top honors from the 20th anniversary season of the BravO! Dance Competition, held May 2-4 in Athens, Georgia. Representing Greensboro, the academy entered five groups to compete against dance programs from across the state.

Dance instructors Crystal Williams and Chrys Moore worked tirelessly to prepare their students for the competition, which was filled with energy, excitement and exceptional talent. On Friday night, Brenna Moore delivered two powerful solo performances, earning two High Gold awards and third place rankings for both routines. Kierstyn Gearhart wowed the judges with her solo, earning a Platinum award and taking first place in her category.

The Mighty Minis, Southern Spice’s youngest competition team, also impressed, earning a High Gold award, which placed them third in their category. Team members include Amelia Sumner, Lauren Wadlington, Addie Ward, Sadie Larson and Gentry Magness.

On Sunday, Sarah Grace Proctor performed a solo that earned an Elite High Gold award, which is second place overall, and she ranked first in her category.

These dancers have trained all season for this moment, and their hard work and dedication were on full display throughout the weekend.
