- Luthiers will be on hand to display their work.
The Naturally Acoustic Guitar Show, presented by Chee Guitars and Crooked Pines Farm, is coming up on Sept. 14 at the farm just 15 minutes south of Madison. Georgia’s only guitar show offers up a day and evening full of performances, workshops, luthiers and collectors celebrating the acoustic guitar.
Joe Robinson, winner of 2008 Australia’s Got Talent, headlines the evening concert with his blazing fingerpicking style, smooth vocals and unique fusion of blues, jazz and R & B. This 22-year-old guitarist honed his skill with mentoring by the likes of legendary player, Tommy Emmanuel, and is now riding the riff to inevitable stardom.
Songsmith Wesley Cook serves as the high-energy, front man and Ambassador for this event and will charm all day and into the evening.
With the focus on the acoustic guitar and its impact across the music genre lines, the day unfolds with The Apostles of Bluegrass led by Georgia native, Johnny Roquemore.
Classical guitarist, Mary Akerman, who has performed with Andreas Segovia, and now teaches at Kennesaw State University, performs and will teach a workshop.
Country and Cajun music is represented with Tim Cadiere, whose new single “Proud” is getting plenty of radio play.
Amazing guitarist, Trey Wright, brings jazz front and center and is not to be missed.
Nathan Sheppard’s thoughtful, melodic songs have been featured on TV and movie soundtracks and he rightfully represents the singer-songwriter.
Tori Lee Averett out of Milledgeville brings a rhythmic nuance laced with Southern derived stories and flavors.
Master Luthier Scott Baxendale, of Baxendale Guitar in Athens, will delight you with his rockabilly and jazz performance and will be teaching a luthier workshop. Scott owns the Athens Luthier Academy and purchased Mossman Guitars in 1985. He has restored guitars for Johnny Cash, Elvis Costello and Billy Gibbons and worked on guitars for Willy Nelson, Donovan and John Mellencamp amongst others.
Luthiers will display their stunning custom, handmade acoustic guitars. Browse legendary C.F. Morrison Guitars from Colorado, Hasty Guitar from Brunswick, Burkett Guitars from Alabama, Ken Miller Guitars from North Carolina, Hamlett Instruments from Virginia, Dead Wood Guitar Company from Athens, Lakota Leathers from Tenneessee, Atlanta Vintage Guitars from Woodstock, CSR Guitar Company from Bryon and Chee Guitars from Lake Oconee. Acoustic guitar enthusiasts, mark your calendar. Bring your guitar and take a workshop or two taught by the musicians.

Great eats will be provided by The Healthy Nut and Southern Komfort Food throughout the day and evening.
