- Jim and Paige Ruhl and Derek and Ann Welch founded DreamBuilt LLC in 1999.
DreamBuilt LLC has been building in the Lake Oconee area since 1999. There are four partners, Jim and Paige Ruhl and Derek and Ann Welch. Each partner plays an integral role in running the business. After meeting at Georgia Tech where Jim, Derek and Ann received degrees in Building Construction and Paige received a Masters in Architecture, each worked in various areas of the industry. Jim and Derek worked as project managers for construction companies in Atlanta including R.J. Griffin, W.H. Bass and San/Dall Custom Homes Inc. on projects such as medical buildings, condominiums, office spaces and restaurants. Paige worked for John Mixon Architects and spent several years with Delta Air Lines in their corporate real estate department. Ann started her career as a custom home coordinator for John Wieland Homes & Neighborhoods Inc. and San/Dall. The two couples formed DreamBuilt LLC in 1999 and since then have built over 150 custom homes and eight commercial buildings.
Paige works with clients on all aspects of the design phase and continues to participate in detail development through construction. Ann’s expertise comes in the interior selection process. She is also responsible for handling the accounting related to each project. Jim and Derek are hands-on project managers spending the majority of their time on job sites managing subcontractors, suppliers, deliveries and construction deadlines.
DreamBuilt has been fortunate to support numerous charities in the Lake Oconee area including sponsoring and constructing two homes in Ludwig Place for Habitat for Humanity.
DreamBuilt said this about the Chamber of Commerce and its own efforts in the community, “The Greene County Chamber has been an excellent vehicle for introductions to large and small businesses. We believe that a strong presence in the community starts with supporting local businesses and actively participating in its events. Keeping close connections within our community is paramount in being a reputable small business in the Lake Oconee area. We love what we do and will continue to strive to build any size home in the preferred style to suit our client’s needs.”
