The first baby of the New Year 2024 to be born at Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin hospital in Milledgeville happened at 9:46 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 1.

The proud parents, Allen Whitesides and Kaitlyn Knighton of Eatonton, are pictured with their newborn son, Robert Colby Whitesides in the hospital room shortly after his birth. Robert Colby tipped the scales at 7 pounds, 14.8 ounces and measured 21 inches long, according to Knighton’s aunt, Sarah Humphrey. The photo was taken by a staff member of the local hospital.
