Saint Joseph’s East Georgia graciously accepts Richland Creek Restaurant’s $2,573.84 donation toward new equipment for the hospital.
This generous monetary gift began with Richland Creek owner Mark Hall’s commitment to dedicate a portion of Richland Creek’s profits to SJEG. Beginning in April, the restaurant launched the summer-long fundraiser setting aside a percentage of one evening’s earnings each week for the eventual donation.
“It’s particularly humbling in this economy to be part of a community where a small business will forego profits to contribute to better healthcare for its patrons and neighbors,” says Mike Huff, President of Saint Joseph’s East Georgia Hospital. “We are also grateful to our community for choosing to dine at Richland Creek on the nights when profits were earmarked for the SJEG donation. Every penny counts toward realizing our dream of building a great hospital in Greensboro” added Huff.
At the close of the fundraiser, Saint Joseph’s East employees expressed gratitude by creating a big smile card and presenting it to Mark Hall in a November ceremony.
“We cannot thank Mark enough for his kindness and we can’t wait to put this money to good use by improving our Smooth Moves equipment (equipment necessary for comfortably moving and relocating patients),” says Jeanette Filpi, Saint Joseph’s East Director of Hospital Operations.
