Local clinic offers telemedicine to combat COVID-19

As we practice social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic, we limit trips to the grocery store, and we try to stay at home as much as possible as we practice “sheltering in place”.  What can we do about traditional healthcare when the last place we want to be is in a medical office environment where you are potentially exposed to sick people who may have the virus?  Not every health care need is COVID-19, sometimes it is simply an ear infection, sinus infection, the flu, or other traditional sickness/injury that occurs this time of year.  What defines the “new normal”?

How do we get medical care without being exposed to something that could be fatal?

Thankfully medical providers are adapting new technologies that can help us through this time of anxiety and concern.

Locally, The Medical Wellness Center of Georgia is offering a solution that works! Powered by ESE Telehealth, they can provide primary and acute care virtually. That means that you can receive medical treatment without having to leave the safety of your own home. All that you need is a computer, tablet, or smart phone. They have real-time medical providers that can see you virtually, diagnose your condition, E-script to your local pharmacy, and provide treatment without ever having to leave your home.

New issues are arising in the home due to self-quarantining. Children and adults are struggling as they no longer have access to their typical support groups at school or during social activities. True health care addresses both the physical and mental aspects of an individual.  The Medical Wellness Center offers mental therapy sessions online that help to address the issues that arise from family being isolated in their home.

Using the service is very simple. Call 877-755-2212 and speak to one of their support staff.  They will walk you through the steps to be seen by a medical professional who can offer you the appropriate treatment while you remain safely in your home.

There is no doubt that COVID-19 will change lives from now on and it seems that there is a new outbreak every two to three years. Not long ago we were concerned about SARS, H1N1, and the Avian flu.  In the aftermath of COVID-19, one positive effect is that competent health care providers are offering solutions that do not require being exposed to other sick patients.  The “new normal” that will result from this outbreak is expedient, efficient, and quality healthcare in the future that does not require us to physically go to a doctor’s office, clinic, or to the emergency room.

The Medical Wellness Center will continue to offer their virtual telehealth and mental therapy services to the community in the future as an affordable, effective alternative to traditional face-to-face health care.
