a2b Fulfillment announces promotions at Georgia facility

GREENSBORO, Ga. — a2b Fulfillment, a third-party provider of order fulfillment, customer care and value-added services, headquartered in Greensboro, announced the promotion of Adam Johnson to general manager and Chad Compston to operations manager for their Georgia location.

Johnson started in the production department in 2012 at the age of 19. He later transferred to picking and shortly after became a certified forklift operator. When an opportunity came in the receiving department, Johnson transferred again and quickly rose to a team lead. From there, he held numerous supervisor roles for multiple departments including receiving, material handling and picking and packing. Johnson also was pivotal in providing training on systems and processes for the launch of new facilities in South Carolina, Utah and Pennsylvania.

Most recently, Johnson was operating in the role of interim general manager in Greensboro, until officially being named to the GM role in April.

“Adam is a tenured a2b’er and is a testament to how hard work and dedication can help you rise through the ranks,” said Chief Operations Operator for a2b Fulfillment, Jonathan Walters. “During his tenure as interim GM, we have seen a number of improvements at our Georgia facility. So, we expect great things to come now that he carries the official title,”

In addition to Johnson’s promotion, Chad Compston has been named operations manager for the Greensboro facility. Previously serving as Fulfillment manager, his role will now expand to managing full facility operations.

“Chad has been a great addition to the Greensboro leadership team and we look forward to seeing him thrive in his new role,” continued Walters.

Ayal Latz, a2b’s president and owner added, “It’s especially rewarding for the entire Greensboro team to see Adam take the lead of this facility. You don’t see many 28-year-old’s take the top spot in an operation of this size and complexity. Adam has truly earned his stripes and I’m grateful for his past and future contributions to our organization.”  Latz continued, “While a newer addition to our team, Chad has quickly demonstrated his leadership skills and is ready for the additional responsibilities required of the Operations Manager role. I’m very excited to have him on the team and look forward to seeing him grow professionally with a2b.”
