Advanced Audiology promotes Better Hearing Month

May is Better Hearing and Speech Month, a month dedicated to educating consumers about the need to assure that their hearing is healthy. Dr. Kimberly Hoffman is encouraging everyone in the Lake Country to take this simple test located below to determine if there is a need for a comprehensive evaluation by an Audiologist. This simple questionnaire lets individuals know quickly and confidentially if there is need of further evaluation.

“We know that unaddressed hearing loss seriously affects a person’s quality of life and has a tremendously negative impact on relationships, “says Dr. Hoffman, audiologist at Advanced Audiology & Hearing Care at Cowles Clinic. “We see it every day in our practice and hear it from not only our patients, but also their concerned family members and friends.”

“We also know that too many people wait years, even decades, before getting treatment—either unaware of the extent of their hearing loss or too afraid to confront it-losing out on so many things in life and not really living life to the fullest. That is why we at Advanced Audiology & Hearing Care are so passionate about everyone getting screened. This quick tool is simple and can be completed in a matter of minutes to determine the need for further testing. We are encouraging all members of our community to take this first, most critical step in reclaiming their hearing—and ultimately their quality of life. And when they’re ready to take the next step and get a professional assessment, we’re here to guide that process and provide help.”

The signs of hearing loss typically are subtle and emerge slowly, therefore, individuals may be unaware of any difficulties. Symptoms of hearing loss may include increased difficulty in a crowded room or restaurant, keeping the television up to a high volume, ringing in the ears, or asking others to repeat because of a lack of clarity.

So, join in the nationwide campaign in promoting better hearing awareness and take the following quick, simple test. If you answer YES to any of the following, be sure to call Advanced Audiology & Hearing Care to schedule an appointment with Dr. Kimberly Hoffman to have your hearing professionally evaluated. Don’t miss out!
