Dr. Manto joins staff of Medical Group of Saint Joseph’s at Cowles Clinic
Saint Joseph’s Medical Group at Cowles Clinic recently announced the addition of board-certified Internist Aurelio Manto, M.D. to its staff.
Specializing in adult wellness and the prevention and treatment of disease, Manto will begin seeing patients in November at the Oak Cottage within Cowles Clinic, located off Linger Longer Road in
Greensboro.
Manto is moving to the area from Cambridge, Mass., where he is currently on staff at Mt. Auburn Hospital, a Harvard University affiliate. He attended the University of Massachusetts Medical School and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Mt. Auburn Hospital.
Before becoming a staff physician at Mt. Auburn, Manto served as Medical Director for Atlantic Health Care in Somerville, Mass. He has also worked as a clinical instructor at Tufts University School of Medicine and as Research Coordinator for Boston University Medical School’s Department of Infectious Diseases.
“Dr. Manto brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table,” said Mike Huff, president of Saint Joseph’s East Georgia. “We are fortunate to have him on our team and are confident he will strengthen our ability to provide complete and advanced care to our patients.”
Saint Joseph’s works with a broad network of local physicians, its affiliates in Atlanta and specialists with the Cowles Clinic, which seeks to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. Manto will join other physicians practicing with Saint Joseph’s Medical Group, located at the Cowles Clinic, including cardiologists Nicolas Chronos, Stephen Frohwein and Peter Lavine, MDs, nephrologist Richard Baehler, MD, and internist Janet Griffin, DO.
“I’m looking forward to working closely with such a talented team of physicians from throughout the area. It is impressive to see the high standards of quality care they have already established for patients in the area, and I am anxious to become a part of that community,” said Manto. “I’m also pretty anxious to get further south, away from the cold, and get closer to family.”
Manto’ wife, Amy, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Peters of Greensboro. They have two children, ages 3 and 5.
