All photographers invited to enter photo show

The Eatonton-Putnam Arts Foundation is pleased to announce it will accept entries for its 8th Annual Photography Show and Contest from January 20 – January 27, 2017.  No photos will be accepted late.  Divisions will include amateur, advanced and junior photographers. Photographs can be mailed or delivered to the Plaza Arts Center.  

The categories for the Amateur Division are, Animals, Back in the Day, Birds, Country Roads, Flowers, Landscapes, Smorgasbord (any photograph that doesn’t fit another category) and One-Word Essay.  The categories for the Advanced Division are Landscapes, Out & About, Smorgasbord, One-Word Essay and Digital Darkroom.  The Digital Darkroom and One-Word Essay categories are described in the rules.  The Juniors may enter any photograph without regard to categories.  Some details and requirements have changed since the last show.  Please go to www.theplazaartscenter.com/activities/photography/ for complete rules and details.

First, second and third place ribbons will be awarded in each category.  In addition, ribbons and cash prizes will be given for the Best in Show winners for both the amateur and the advanced divisions.  Best in Show cash awards will be $150 each for the two Best in Show photographs, $125 each for 2nd in show, $100 each for 3rd in show.    An entry fee of $10 per photo or $50 for six photos will benefit EPAF’s Putnam ARTS program.  There is no limit in number of photos a photographer can enter.

A preview reception will be held on April 1st for photographers and their families to view the photos and learn who the winners are.  The show will be open to the public February 18 through February 24.  The Plaza Arts Center is located at 305 N. Madison Avenue, Eatonton.
