Reynolds Rapids team with Baldwin Aqua Dragons

The Reynolds Rapids swim team joined forces with the Baldwin Aqua Dragons to take on the Morgan County Marlins and the Walton Waves at the 2010 District Swim meet in Loganville on Saturday, July 10.  The district meet is a qualifier for the state meet.  Qualification requires swimmers to place in the top three of their event.  The state meet will be held on July 23 and 24 in Tifton.  

The team scored an impressive 492 points and finished second place overall behind the Walton Waves with 516 points.  A total of forty-two swimmers qualified for the state meet.  Emily Schneider, 12, qualified for four events, taking first place in all.  Individually she won the Girls 50 Freestyle 11-12 and Girls 100 IM 11-12.  In the relays for 14 and under 200 Medley and 200 Freestyle, she also placed first.  Michael and Mark Martino, sons of coach Angel Martino, qualified in four events each also.  Mark Martino, 8, won first place in all four events:  Boys 50 Freestyle, 100 Medley Relay, Boys 24 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle Relay.  His brother Michael, 13, placed first in individual events 50 Freestyle and 50 Butterfly and placed second in 200 Medley Relay and 200 Freestyle Relay.

Lolly Brooks:  25 Yd. Backstroke, 25 Yd. Butterfly

– Boys 11-12

Palmer Clark:  50 Yd. Freestyle, 50 Yd. Breaststroke

Michael Klein:  100 Yd. IM, 50 Yd. Backstroke

Brandon Moats:  100 Yd. Freestyle

GW Brooks:  50 Yd. Butterfly

– Girls 11-12

Emily Schneider:  50 Yd. Freestyle, 100 Yd. IM

Ciara Sadaka:  100 Yd. Freestyle, 50 Yd. Butterfly

– Boys 13-14

Michael Martino:  50 Yd. Freestyle, 50 Yd. Butterfly

Hampton Clark:  50 Yd. Breaststroke

– Girls 13-14

Emma Lowring:  100 Yd. Freestyle, 100 Yd. IM

Lena Visser:  50 Yd. Backstroke, 50 Yd. Butterfly
