Dreambuilt house a dream come true for Habitat family

Many Greene County residents and corporations have assisted in building Greene County Habitat for Humanity houses since the local affiliate was started fifteen years ago. Houses built by Habitat are special places for special reasons.

They are built with love in the mortar joints and walls.  It is the love of the volunteers who furnish food for the builders; it is love of volunteers who serve on committees and work at the ReStore; it is the love of donor partners whose help makes these houses possible and affordable; it is also the love of homeowner partners who contribute sweat equity in constructing their own homes.  Individual and corporate volunteers are the backbone of this organization.

DreamBuilt Design Construction, LLC has again partnered with habitat to build the SECOND DreamBuilt house at Ludwig Place.  This contribution is greatly appreciated by Habitat and we express our gratitude to the DreamBuilt team; Ann and Derek Welch and Paige and Jim Ruhl; for a job well done.

DreamBuilt is a team that creates a product where many efforts contribute to its success.

The following comments were provided by the team:  “We have high expectations for our partners, employees, vendors and subcontractors.  We treat one another with respect and receive that in return. DreamBuilt’s homeowners are not simply clients who are in our lives for the short period of their construction project. We are forming long term relationships that in turn create a wonderful community where we are raising our own families. When we look for areas in the community where we can contribute our time and resources, we look for those same qualities. We have a great deal of respect for Habitat and what they do.  The professionalism with which they treat their projects and their volunteers and the training and mentoring that goes along with each new homeowner reflects the foundation of our own company.  We look forward to a long relationship with Habitat and participating in many more projects.”

Rachel Lee’s dream came true when she accepted the keys at the dedication of the DreamBuilt house and begun to make a home, built with love.  The first home that DreamBuilt built with Habitat was Yasmond Miller’s home dedicated in 2009.  Greene County Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit ecumenical Christian ministry working in partnership with the community and future homeowners, to provide decent, affordable, and safe housing for those in need.  For additional information about GCHFH call 706-453-1718 or email info@gchabitat.com.
