Pure Chiropractic expands mission with Lunch & Learns and community outreach
For almost 30 years, Dr. Ted Smith, founder and wellness chiropractor of Pure Chiropractic Lake Oconee and Milledgeville, along with his chiropractic wellness team, have dedicated themselves to educating and enhancing families’ health through natural chiropractic care.
With education being the foundation of their work, they also recognize the importance of giving back to the community in which they serve. Dr. Smith affirms that chiropractic Lunch & Learns and community outreach opportunities are a powerful addition to their mission.
In 2022, Pure Chiropractic Lake Oconee and Milledgeville proudly launched the Lunch & Learn Series, aiming to promote Chiropractic awareness while supporting local restaurants.
Hannah Goss is Pure Chiropractic’s operations manager.
“We connect with local groups and businesses and talk for a few minutes about chiropractic care and the value it adds to their lives. The Lunch & Learn initiative fosters community engagement and health discussions over a great lunch, in a comfortable atmosphere. We support local restaurants, educate individuals, and help local business owners — it’s a win for everyone involved,” said Goss.
During a recent Lunch & Learn, a partnership unfolded as a Lunch & Learn participant, Connie Karpinsky, shared her involvement in the annual Upscale Resale charity event. The event, hosted by The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Greensboro, benefits food pantry ministries at Putnam Christian Outreach and the Green County Food Pantry.
In keeping with Pure Chiropractic’s commitment to community well-being, Dr. Smith and his team decided to donate proceeds from all New Patient exams scheduled at the Lunch & Learn to the Upscale Resale Event.
“This was an easy decision for us as it seamlessly aligns with our mission to serve and give back to our community. We volunteer our time to educate our community about better health through a Chiropractic lifestyle; when those same people we’re in front of are volunteering their time to feed the hungry, we want to support them as well,” said Smith.
Dr. Rebecca Patrick, wellness chiropractor at Pure Chiropractic Lake Oconee, was the keynote speaker at this particular Lunch & Learn and highlighted the significance of bridging connections with the community, supporting local businesses, and giving back to area non-profits.
Karpinsky expressed gratitude for Pure Chiropractic’s contribution.
“Every contribution received makes a significant impact on the lives of those in need through the invaluable work of our local food pantries,” she said.
In addition to the Lunch & Learn Series, Pure Chiropractic participates in Community Outreach opportunities, such as health fairs, community festivals, and even setting up chiropractic information booths, as they do monthly at the Milledgeville Walmart.
Pure Chiropractic Wellness Chiropractors Dr. Michael Evans and Dr. Daniel Patrick shared how educating Walmart patrons about the benefits of Chiropractic care is so rewarding.
“Many times, we meet patrons who have never had an understanding about how chiropractic works. They come to us believing it’s about alleviating back pain. While chiropractic can help to do that, chiropractic at its core is about overall health and wellness, building a stronger immune system and preventive care benefiting the entire body,” said Evans.
For every Walmart patron scheduling a chiropractic exam, Pure Chiropractic donates exam fees to Ferst Readers of Baldwin County. This organization ensures children have access to developmentally appropriate books, promoting early literacy skills.
“Supporting Ferst Readers is an honor for our practice. Pure Chiropractic believes in full body wellness — mind, body, and soul. Of course, we would love to see a day when every member of every family, young and old, achieves their optimal health by implementing Chiropractic care as part of their wellness plan; however, as we work towards that goal, we also see the value of investing in the lives of children to help them strengthen their minds. They are our future,” said Dr. Patrick.
In just a few short months, Pure Chiropractic has already contributed $1,000 to Ferst Readers, a contribution that will directly impact dozens of children this year alone.
“Ferst Readers Baldwin County is excited about the journey ahead as we advocate for literacy for our students. With the help of community partners, we are currently able to provide support for 250 young learners at the Early Learning Center. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of our students and their families and support even more! We are looking forward to a brighter future filled with learning and a joy for reading books,” said Jemeria Cummings, Ferst Readers Advocate.
Since the very beginning, Dr. Smith and the Wellness Team of Pure Chiropractic have had one mission: To educate, check, adjust, and love as many families as possible towards optimal health, through natural Chiropractic care.
“Lunch & Learns and Community Outreach are just a new way, one of many incredible ways, we are determined to accomplish this mission, and we are honored to also give monetarily to many meaningful causes in our community in the process,” Dr. Smith said.
