Alliance Gives Back selections 4th quarter recipients

The Alliance Home & Land Group team of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices RPA Realty selected not one, but two local charities for its fourth quarter “Alliance Gives Back” program. The Greene County Food Pantry and Putnam Christian Outreach were this quarters recipients and rightfully so.

“What better way to welcome in the holidays and close out the year then by selecting two very well deserving organizations that do so much for our local community,” Bob Miller said. “Contributing to the mission of GCFP and PCO was important to our entire team since we are so heavily invested in our community.”

Rich Johns and Miller presented 48 turkeys, 24 to each organization, on behalf of Alliance Gives Back: along with the numerous non-perishable food donations collected from the community.

Johns added, “We’re glad that we’ve been able to help support these organizations, as all of their hard work does not go un-noticed by us, and especially at the holidays.” Why 48 turkeys you might ask? “48 is the number of property closings we have had for the year up to this date, so it only seemed natural to go with that number. We’re looking forward to increasing that number year over year.”

Steve Peluso (board president) and Maya Callaway (assistant coordinator) of GCFP joined us and showed off their “new to them” van and brought us up to speed on their needs as donations are down and need is up in Greene County. Rex Corlett (president) and Lynda Farley (store manager) accepted the donations on behalf of PCO.

Corlett stated, “We have been praying and praying for turkeys this year and didn’t know how we were going to do it, these are answered prayers.”

It was truly a pleasure to sit down with them to learn more about their organizations and how we, as a community, can be of greater assistance to them in all they do.
