Little Scholars Academy students hold fall festival

Little Scholars Academy at Lake Oconee recently celebrated the fun and festive Fall season with a week long set of activities that was culminated by a wonderful festival at the end of this very busy week. The three and four year old students had been learning all about how to measure pumpkin sizes, count with candy, and recognize change that surround the coming of Fall season. They also completed a Venn Diagram where they compared and contrasted “Goodnight Moon” with “Goodnight Goon.” The teachers tied in the usual aspects Fall with these various educational concepts in Social Studies, Math, Cooking, Science, Language and Literature.

During the week of Halloween, the students were able to enhance their everyday uniform with some sort of fun “accessory” that tied into Fall. Monday was crazy hair day, Tuesday was silly hat day, Wednesday was Wacky sock day, Thursday Autumn accessory day. Then on Friday, Oct. 29, the students got to dress in costume and have a “trick-or-treat parade” through the halls of Lakeside Church where they have been housed since opening in August. All of the teachers and several parents dressed up as well and were able to join in the fun! The parade made it’s way to a fun hayride around the campus of the church and ended up at the First Annual Little Scholars Academy Fall Festival. The children were able to pick their own pumpkin in the LSA Pumpkin Patch and decorate it. They also made other great Harvest arts and crafts items. Finally, they exercised by jumping and playing  in two different bounce houses. It was a wonderfully fun day for all who participated!
