Fifth Annual Scholarship Tournament held at Harbor Club Golf Course

The Harbor Club Men’s Golf Association Scholarship Fund hosted their Fifth Annual Tournament on Saturday, June 11.  Funds raised go toward scholarships to Greene and Putnam County high school seniors meeting organization’s criteria.  

John McCormack gave a memorial tribute to recognize past HCMGA members, in remembrance, a plaque listing their names has been placed in the trophy room.

Tournament team winners were:

— Low net gross — Jimmy Britt, Dennis Holly, Sam Fowler and Wren Fowler,

— 1st Low net — Chuck Thorp, Jack Nugent, Gary Sargent and Trey Rule III

— 2nd Low net — Bill, Stuart and Hollis Barton and R. Ingersoll

— 3rd. Low net — Dave Benton, Ricky Knowles, Andy Southern and Bob Welsh

— Closest to the pin — Dale Fahey for the ladies and Richard Schaeffel for the men.

Two of the scholarship winners were able to attend — Emily Turner from Nathanael Greene and Trey Rule III, from Gatewood (who also played and brought in a winning team!)  Scholarship winners unable to attend — Anna Chapman from Putnam County High School and Audrey Elizabeth Dugan from Gatewood.  Putnam County High School golf coach, Mike Chapman, was on hand to accept his daughter’s award (and also played in the tournament).  

 HCMGASF president, Bud Stultz, is thankful to all who contributed to the success of this year’s tournament.
