Thank you for supporting the ‘Share a Heart for Good Sam’ Campaign
GREENSBORO, Ga. — The “Share a Heart” campaign is complete and successfully raised $100,000 for St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital.
“We want to express how grateful we are for the support from the community for our ‘Share a Heart’ campaign,” said Becky Smith, chair of the St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Foundation Board. “Thank you to each and every person and business who donated to the ‘Share a Heart’ campaign, purchased a raffle ticket, or bought a silent auction item. YOU helped make this campaign a success.”
The proceeds from the “Share a Heart” campaign will support the creation of an outpatient infusion room at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital. Currently, Good Samaritan Hospital sees six to eight patients per day in need of infusion treatment, including cancer patients, those receiving IV antibiotics, and patients who need other vital medications. This growing service line does not have a permanent location in the hospital and has moved around between the hospital’s patient activity room, chapel and the mammography waiting room.
Funds from the campaign will be used to convert an existing space near the hospital’s emergency department into the new outpatient infusion room. The room will be equipped with a recliner, infusion pump, TV, and other items for patient comfort and safety. It will be staffed by nurses experienced in administering infusion medications in an outpatient setting.
“Outpatient infusion is an important service, and I am so glad we will now be able to provide a permanent space to better serve our patients who need this kind of care,” said Good Samaritan Hospital President Tanya Adcock. “It’s one more way we are working to provide the care our community needs right here, close to home. We are so grateful for the ongoing support of our community as we work to sustain, grow, and serve those who entrust us with their care.”
Smith and Adcock extended a “tremendous thank you” to the businesses and individuals who donated items for the raffle and silent auction. “Your donations contributed greatly to the success of the campaign!” Smith said.
Item donors were: Crowe Marine; Scott Deering; Freedom Boat Club of Lake Oconee; Harbor Club – Keith Kelly, Head Golf Pro; Kristen and Jonathan Hill; Hinzman Holdings, LLC; Leone Hinzman; Jim and Christa Hyatt; Lake Country Flying Club, Inc,; Riezl Baker, Luxury Lake Oconee Real Estate Group; Aaron Murray; Oconee Brewing Company; Matt Garofalo, Oconee Cellar; Greg Edwards, Oconee Classic Boats; Mike and Darlene Prosperi; Reynolds Lake Oconee; The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee; Tim Cadiere Productions.
“I also want to give a huge shout out to the campaign’s planning committee.
