Da Corrado Ristorante under new ownership

GREENSBORO, Ga. — “Come in as friends, and leave as family.”

It’s a saying that’s become very familiar to local patrons of Da Corrado Ristorante; featured prominently on an interior plaque, the phrase underscores the importance of family to the restaurant’s original owner, Corrado Corrias. And it’s the reason why he has decided to pass the ownership reins over to David Lopez Bartus, while focusing solely on being a brand ambassador for the restaurant. It’s a change that will allow Corrias and his wife, April, to focus on being closer to home and family in Madison, Ga. as they begin a new culinary adventure — the opening of Dolce Caffé in downtown Madison.

“There is no better fit for Da Corrado Ristorante than Mr. Lopez Bartus,” effused Corrias. “While I will still be on staff to assist with mission and vision, I’m excited about the Spanish influences that David will bring to enhance the overall dining experience that locals have come to love and expect.”

The restaurant has been undergoing enhancements over the past few weeks to ensure the perfect ambience, while still adhering to safety precautions during this unprecedented time.

“My love for the culinary arts, and passion for exquisite dining experiences, made taking over Da Corrado Ristorante an easy decision,” said new owner Lopez Bartus. “My goal is to bring new flavors to the menu, and engage seasonal menus focusing on the best produce, meats and cheese available all while staying true to the original mission and vision of Da Corrado Ristorante.”

Bartus hails from the Principality of Asturias in northern Spain, and has two beautiful children: a son who is a computer engineer in Madrid, and a daughter who just finished her freshman year at the University of Oviedo in Spain, where she studies chemical engineering. Bartus has lived at Lake Oconee since January of this year.
