The Arts Barn adjusts during difficult Times
As we all continue to adjust to the challenges presented by COVID-19 and the social distancing measures that have become necessary, small businesses everywhere are also working hard to cope with the new challenges.
The Arts Barn, a locally-owned and operated small business offering dance and music classes, has been quick to adjust to these challenges by introducing remote-learning. Utilizing web conferences in conjunction with pre-recorded instructional videos, the Arts Barn’s instructors have been hard at work to continue offering their unique fun-loving style of instruction to their dedicated students.
“It hasn’t exactly been easy to do — we’re definitely still adjusting and getting better at this, but in a lot of ways it’s worked out quite well. This social-distancing is hard to do — it feels great to see our students even if it has to be over a video conference for now,” explained Lora Garcia, owner and director of The Arts Barn.
Parents and students alike have been grateful, expressing their thanks for a bit of normalcy during this time.
Jessica Womack, a dance instructor who recently moved to Greensboro expressed her feelings, saying, “this is all pretty stressful, and I think it’s just really important for us to stay active and to keep in touch as best we can — but of course, we’re really looking forward to a time when we can all be together again.”
In the meantime, The Arts Barn and its students are staying patient and focusing on being grateful for the opportunity to take advantage of distance learning with friends.
