Coldwell Banker Lake Oconee Realty/Lake Country Partners with Oconee Regional Humane Society to Offer Free Pets to Area Homebuyers

GREENSBORO, Ga. — As a part of its ongoing community service campaign entitled, “The Power of True,” Coldwell Banker Lake Oconee Realty/Lake Country recently partnered with the Oconee Regional Humane Society to help new homeowners adopt their next pet. In particular, if an individual or family purchases a home in the brand new Lake Oconee residential development, Meadowcrest, Coldwell Banker will personally cover all costs of adoption of a dog or cat from the Oconee Regional Humane Society.

The idea for this partnership developed after PGA Certified Golf Pro for Cuscowilla, Wes Foskey, decided to adopt a labrador puppy named Boomer from the Howell Mill Campus Humane Society while simultaneously buying his new home at Meadowcrest. After Coldwell Banker learned of Boomer’s adoption, they agreed to cover the adoption fees as both a “Welcome Home” gift to Foskey and as a way to give back to regional animal shelters. Coldwell Banker then reached out to the Oconee Regional Humane Society to establish a long-term partnership to offer future residents of Meadowcrest the same opportunity to adopt a pet as part of the purchase of their new Meadowcrest home.

“We are forever thankful to Coldwell Banker for helping us both find our home at Meadowcrest and adopt Boomer,” said Foskey. “We were drawn to Meadowcrest because of its excellent Lake Oconee location near Harmony Crossing, the fact that it is a new construction community, the excellent floorplan options, and the long-term stability of the real estate market in the community. We are looking forward to years of awesome memories in our new home and with Boomer as a member of the family.”

“While we are excited about the Meadowcrest development and its potential to become the next premier residential community in Georgia’s Lake Country, we are equally thrilled to partner with the Oconee Regional Humane Society to help area pets find their forever home” stated Coldwell Banker Lake Oconee Realty/Lake Country President and COO, Tom Martin. “At the end of the day, it is a win-win for all parties involved and is another example of how Coldwell Banker Lake Oconee Realty/Lake Country remains true to helping our community.”

When asked to comment on the partnership, co-chair of the Oconee Regional Humane Society Board of Directors, Jackie Stolarski, stated that, “we absolutely love working with Coldwell Banker Lake Oconee Realty/Lake Country as they always provide excellent support for our various animal rescue services, including adoptions, pet food distribution, community education, and low cost spay and neuter services. This most recent venture involving homeowners of the Meadowcrest community is simply icing on the cake and is an excellent way for us to celebrate our 20th anniversary as the leading no-kill animal shelter serving Greene and Putnam counties.”

Located at 442 Old Phoenix Road, the Meadowcrest community offers a variety of new construction homes with various floorplans in the heart of Georgia’s Lake Country with prices starting around $250,000. Coldwell Banker Lake Oconee Realtors® are available to offer tours of the community with an appointment.
