Tony-Nominated singer Josh Young and wife Emily Padgett bring talents to OPAS
GREENSBORO, Ga. — The Oconee Performing Arts Society (OPAS) is thrilled to announce that Tony Award-nominated and five-time Theater World Award-winning singer Josh Young and his talented wife, Broadway actress Emily Padgett, will grace the stage for Broadway Sings for OPAS Sept. 27 to open the 17th season. The dynamic duo, celebrated for their exceptional vocal talents and commanding stage presence, will deliver an evening of show-stopping numbers that will delight audiences of all ages.
Josh Young, is known for his powerful performance in “Jesus Christ Superstar” and has garnered critical acclaim for his work as Che in“Evita” and as Marius in “Les Misérables.” He has captivated Broadway audiences with his commanding voice, stage charisma, and versatility across both classic and contemporary musical theater roles.
Emily Padgett, a standout triple threat performer in her own right, has starred in six major Broadway productions, including “Side Show,”“Grease,”“Rock of Ages,”“Legally Blonde”and Edie Brickell and Steve Martin’s hit“Bright Star.” Her extensive credits have earned her a loyal fan base and widespread recognition in the theater community. Together, Young and Padgett are a powerhouse duo, combining their talents to create unforgettable musical moments.
