Lake Country Players to present ‘Big River’
The Lake Country Players announce its BIG summer musical spectacular, “Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” written by William Hauptman with music and lyrics by Roger Miller.
Based on Mark Twain’s classic 19th century novel, this Tony Award-winning musical sweeps audiences down the mighty Mississippi as the irrepressible Huck Finn helps his friend Jim escape slavery to freedom. Their adventures along the way are hilarious, suspenseful and heartwarming, bringing to life everyone’s favorite characters from the novel.
Lake Country Players’ “Big River” features Ontario Williams as Jim and Tyler Stella as Huck Finn. Under the direction of Charlotte Mosteller, with choreography by Mo Brower and musical direction by Donna Valvo, this production promises to be top-notch. The talented cast also includes Steve Pond as the Duke, Drace Langford as the King, Johnny Wagoner as Pap, LaTonya Parham Thompkins as Alice, and Zak Ralston as Tom Sawyer. Along with an ensemble of 18 performers, this show is sure to be a highly entertaining experience.
Tickets will be available to the public starting July 1 at www.lakecountryplayers.org. Show dates/times are July 25-27 at 7 p.m. and July 28 at 2 p.m. at Festival Hall in Greensboro.
