LOTA competes at state

The Lake Oconee Tennis Association (LOTA) 7.0 Mixed Doubles Team travelled to Columbus, April 13-15 to compete in the state tournament. The LOTA team played four other Georgia teams and won all four matches securing their spot in the regional (12 states) tournament in November 2018 in Little Rock Arkansas.

The team members were Ron and Susan Psimas, Bob and Nancy Sanders, Ellen Shea, Bill Massa, Julie Kin, Gary Gardner, Rick Henson, Terri Riley, Don Hill, and Debbie Ivey. Roger Fields was the team captain with Barbara Voyles as co-captain.This marks the fifth state tennis championship the past three years for the LOTA organization, a very impressive feat for a small organization.

The Lake Oconee Tennis Association (LOTA) serves Baldwin, Greene, Morgan and Putnam counties and is an organizing body for USTA competition in the area. LOTA’s purpose and objective is to create, develop, maintain and promote tennis in our community. The goal is to provide tennis opportunities and programs, fun and competitive matches, and a positive benefit from physical activity. For more information, go to www.LOTATennis.com.
