Kids’ cooking class a hit

Thank you to the Plantation Olive Oil Company for a wonderful cooking class!

Mrs. Connee Webster and Mr. Larry Jack of the Plantation Olive Oil Company gave a spectacular class to local children looking for cooking opportunities here in the lake area.

They provided several recipes for the class to enjoy that incorporated the delicious and aromatic oils from the store. A popular recipe was, Toad in the Hole with Tuscan Herb Olive Oil. They were prepared and engaged with everyone in the class. Both were also very considerate of food allergies and knife use. A special touch was how they knew all the children’s names by the end of the class.

Everyone had a great time learning about the history of olives, cooking and especially tasting! The class favorite was the Orange Flavored Chocolate Fudge Brownies with a Raspberry Balsamic Reduction. Yes, they made their very own reduction sauce that was incorporated into two recipes! A wonderful new skill that they all can do now.

All the children received printed copies of the recipes and several have already been made at their homes with these tasty oils.
