Little Scholars Super Bowl raffle raises $20,000 plus

Wow, these Little Scholars are amazing! In just one month, these young children raised more than $20,000 during their first annual Super Bowl Fundraiser. Considering that there are only 18 students currently enrolled, this is truly a fabulous accomplishment. Tina Lewis, a teacher at LSA, raised $2,000 along with her daughter Payton. For being the top selling family team, Lewis won an award certificate, two gift cards from Publix and a concierge membership from Spotlight Theatre.

Brandi Boswell, Events/Marketing Manager at Spotlight Theatre, said “This event was a big success and we really should make this an annual event.”

The afternoon was planned out perfectly by Little Scholars Academy, there was not one stone left unturned.

Bob Dykes stated “Anne Bared-Hill always puts in 120 percent in all that she does.”

As raffle ticket holders first made it up the stairs to the “Balcony”, they were greeted by decorations of a life sized football player, oversized football helmet, footballs and silver pompoms all matching in LSA colors. Each guest was surprised to receive additional red raffle tickets (for even more exciting giveaways) plus fun pom-pom party favors.

The Balcony was decorated with football lanterns, pennants, football flags, and Super Bowl balloons. There was also a Karaoke Room where some people should have been penalized for “excessive celebration.”

Guests were shouting and cheering during the cheerleading demo. Several parents even participated during the Interactive Zumba class lead by Yamila Gonzalez from BodyPlex. Plus, DJ Ron DMC delighted guests, while they ate, with his music throughout the afternoon.

During the game at each quarter, Mrs. Anne Bared-Hill and her student assistant, Moriah cranked the brass raffle drum and drew several fun gifts donated by local businesses. All raffle ticket holders now also had a chance to not only win the Super Bowl Grand prize but also the following items: two Spray Tan Sessions donated by Zapiens salon, 18 holes of golf donated by Sue Oxenford, a $50 gift card donated by Amici, a $50 gift certificate to de Corrado donated by Carol and Tony Candito, $50 gift cards donated by That Pizza Place, Arts and Crafts Activity bucket donated by Tiny Tales, Photo Shoot and Makeover donated by Pitter Productions Ink, a two-night stay donated by The Ritz Carlton.

Finally, after all that excitement, Mark Alexander, CEO of Innovative Therapy Concepts, LLC was the Grand Prize Super Bowl Package winner! He works with Little Scholar Kenzie’s daddy Bob. Mark was truly shocked and claimed he never typically wins during raffles such as this one. Congratulations again Mark, who said that unfortunately he may not be able to attend the game since his wife is due on Feb. 4 with their first child.
