The incredible natural beauty of the Lake Oconee area has been illustrated in many ways through the years. The recent release of Seasons on Lake Oconee, The Art of the Area Through Poetry, Prose and Paintings is a masterful collection of art and writings by local artists and authors.

“This book has been my dream for almost three years,” said Gail Vail, author, artist and editor of Seasons on Lake Oconee. “The lake region is very rich in artistic talent whether expressed through the stroke of a pen or of a paintbrush. The book will provide a small tangible treasure for those who visit the area and want something to remember their experience, as well as for those who live here and want to capture their own memories and share them with family and friends.”

The book is arranged by seasons, beginning with the vibrancy of spring. Each page features a full-color painting specifically paired to the writing. Many of the artists are well-known throughout the area and many members of The Greensboro Writers Guild, a subset of the Greensboro Arts Alliance, contribute to “Seasons on Lake Oconee.”

“The resulting book is a tribute to the beautiful area, to the developers for their thoughtful preservation of the beauty of the land, and to all of the many gifted individuals who enthusiastically rallied around a concept to use their gifts for everyone,” said Vail.

“Seasons on Lake Oconee” features 37 writings and 41 paintings contributed by 40 individuals. The book retails for $27.95 and is available at the Plantation, Landing and Great Waters clubhouses at Reynolds Plantation and The Lake Club, as well as Art of Oconee, Magnolia Art Gallery and Aurum Jewelry and Art in Lake Oconee Village. Genuine Georgia in downtown Greensboro and the Eatonton Chamber of Commerce will also have the book.
