PUTNAM CHRISTIAN OUTREACH AWARDS FOUR SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS FOR 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR

EATONTON, GA (May 27, 2022): Each year, Putnam Christian Outreach (PCO) has awarded one student from Putnam County with a scholarship to further their education, but due to recent increased support in both Putnam and Greene County, PCO was able to expand its Scholarship Program to offer four $1,000 scholarships to seniors across Putnam and Greene Counties. PCO would like to announce and congratulate its 2021-2022 Scholarship Winners: Ally Blythe of Lake Oconee Academy, Garric Embry of Gatewood Schools, Lillian Thomas of Putnam County High School, and Tayla Merritt of Lake Oconee Academy.

These four seniors completed the requirements of the scholarship, by devoting eight volunteer hours to PCO and submitting a short essay about their volunteer experience, as well as how they have individually impacted their communities. They were chosen out of a competitive field by a panel of judges, made up of educators and community members in both Putnam and Greene Counties.

“We are so thrilled to award these scholarships to outstanding seniors in our community. They represent some of the best in both Greene and Putnam, and we feel blessed to be able to aid them in their next chapters! I’m excited to see how our scholarship program continues to grow and expand in the future” said PCOI Executive Director Vanessa Jackson.
