Students win poster contest

October was National “Adopt-A-Shelter Pet” month.  Felicia Watkins, the art teacher at Putnam County Primary School, had the students draw a picture of their family or themselves playing with a pet.  The Oconee Regional Humane Society wanted to award a winner and a runner-up from each grade level.  All of the students put in extra effort to make their picture special.

The kindergarten class winner was Dayton Nelson and the runner-up was Tytianna Little.  Aniyah Brown was the winner in first grade and KyAshia Youngblood was runner-up.  And in the second grade, Waylon Wooten came in first and runner-up was Alexander Durance.  Congratulations to all the winners and to all the participants.

The winners received free ice cream and a ribbon.  Their artwork will be framed and hung in the new Oconee Regional Humane Society Center.

The Oconee Regional Humane Society is a non-profit organization.  Visit the website at www.ORHSpets.org, email ORHS@gmail.com or call (706) 454-1508 for more information, if you would like to become a volunteer or make a donation.  Tax deductible donations can be mailed to ORHS, 6350 Lake Oconee Parkway, Ste 102, PMB 178, Greensboro, GA 30642.      Until there are none-rescue one.
