Gospel quartet entertains at Greene County Friends of the Library dinner

The Greene County Friends of the Library have asked a local gospel quartet, Homeward Bound, to entertain at the annual dinner meeting Jan. 27 at the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center in Greensboro.  The group (Put LaBarre, Harvey Phlegar, Harold Givson and Bill Phillips) has been together since 2004 and performed at many local venues and events here in Greene County including the 9ll Remembrance Tribute at Tiger Stadium in September. Their program will include popular and patriotic numbers along with gospel favorites. Sally Pike will accompany them.

A ticket to this enjoyable event would be an ideal gift for a friend or family member, so stop by the Library and pick up one (or two or more).

The event begins at 7 p.m. with a delicious homestyle dinner catered by Elise’s Elegant Edibles. There will be a book sale (at bargain prices for nearly new books!) All purchases help support library programs. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased at the library or by sending your check to Anita McCoy, 3364 Linger Longer Road, Greensboro, GA 30642 or by calling (706) 467-2001.
