In a large region that encompasses portions of Greene, Morgan and Putnam counties, the Lake Oconee community sprawls through north central Georgia in sometimes difficult to navigate roadways, making a quick visit here and there at times more of a road trip than an outing. In that continued spirit of drawing the Lake Oconee area into more of a community, the Lake Oconee Breeze has launched a new Web site, www.lakeoconeebreeze.net, to provide Lake Oconee Web users the opportunity to share life on the lake in an easy and convenient way.

“The Web site is fabulous,” Lake Oconee Breeze advertising director Erin Simmons said. “We’ve really made some advancements, and I hope the people of Lake Oconee will find it useful and that the new Web site will be incorporated into everyday life on the Lake.”

The new site carries some of the content readers have become familiar with in the Lake Oconee Breeze, but offers additional content available only on the Internet version. Aside from reaching the broad Lake Oconee corridor, the reach of the Breeze now has the potential to span around the world, which translates into good news for world class programs and offerings that are unique to the Lake Oconee area. Potential advertisers will find supplementing print edition advertising with Internet advertising a guaranteed way to drive traffic to their Web sites and stores.

“This site gives the Breeze a much wider reach for users, contributors, as well as advertisers,” Simmons said. “We really hope that upcoming expansions and additions to the Web site will serve our loyal following in helping them to know what is going on around the lake.”

In addition to news about Lake Oconee, the Web site allows users to watch video news from the Associated Press or find a job through the Lake Oconee Breeze’s association with Monster Jobs. The site also offers real-time weather conditions and forecasts.

Lake Oconee Breeze advertising representative Vicki Parker is excited to have www.lakeoconeebreeze.net as a new tool to accentuate the Lake Oconee Breeze print edition, and sees it translating into a big opportunity for area advertisers.

“We are asked all the time about home delivery, especially for people who have second homes on the lake,” Parker said. “This opens the pages of the Breeze to people even when they are out of town. Any way you look at it, the advertising audience we can offer for the Breeze has just multiplied exponentially through the Web site.”

To view the Web site, enter www.lakeoconeebreeze.net into a browser window and begin enjoying seeing more of Lake Oconee than ever before from a brand new perspective — the World Wide Web.
