Trees may be chosen for many different reasons. Their growth habits may be large or small, broad or narrow. They may have great fall leaf colors, blooms during the growing season, or interest growing season leaf colors and textures. Others may be chosen because of their unique bark texture or color.
Shrubs are also available in different growth habits, for sun or shade areas. Many shrubs are evergreen, some with different leaf colors. Many have beautiful blooms and some bloom throughout the growing season. Others will bloom in the fall and winter while other varieties have berries.
This is also a great season for choosing ground covers, perennials and annuals, since there are many varieties available for sun or shade.
With the large selection of plants available during the fall, it is a great time to re-vamp your garden. Decide which areas you want to plant and consider what types and varieties of plants would be best suited for those areas.
