Celebrated pianist to perform with Macon Symphony at Plaza Arts Center
Internationally acclaimed German pianist David Gross will be the featured soloist with the Macon Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, Nov. 16 at the new Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton. Gross will perform Brahms Piano Concerto No. The concert will begin at 6 p.m. and will be followed by a cocktail reception.
A Berlin native, Gross has performed with leading European and American orchestras and recorded a number of solo broadcasts for National Public Radio and classic radio stations in the United States. He now lives in Greenville (SC) where he is Associate Professor at Furman University.
In addition to the Brahms Concerto, the Macon Symphony’s amiable Director, Adrian Gnam, will conduct one of Beethoven’s most popular Symphony’s, Number 6, the Pastoral. The orchestra is making its ninth appearance in the Lake Oconee area and has always performed to sell-out crowds.
Tickets for the concert are available in Eatonton at The Plaza Arts Center, The Peoples Bank, Farmers and Merchants Bank. At the lake area, tickets are available at Bank South Oconee Office and the Lake Welcome Center. Advance tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for children under 13. Adult tickets sold at the door will be $30. A cocktail reception will follow the performance, including wines, punch and a selection of fine hors d’oeuvres. Tickets for the reception are $20.
